Pre-tied bow ties are the easiest men's bow ties for most people. The bow is attached to a neck band that has adjustable clips to secure it under the collar. Clip On Bow Ties

Clip on bow ties are similar to pre-tied, except they don't have the neck band and simply clip directly to your shirt. Pre-tied bow ties are more common now, but for children and toddlers, a clip bow ties is a great choice.

How to tie a bow tie

Despite looking complicated, with a bit of practice, you'll be tying your bow tie like a pro in no time. Simply follow these easy steps:

1. Start with bow tie facing up and the right side (A) longer than the left side (B)
2. Move A to the right to cross over B
3. Bring A under B and pass through the neck
4. At the join, fold B to the right and then left to create the butterfly shape
5. Bring A over the middle of the bow shape
6. Fold A backwards to the chest and create a fold
7. Pull the folded end of A through the loop behind B
8. Tighten and balance the bow tie by pulling on the folds
